MEET THE OSTEOPATHIC WAY
While still in residency, Dr. Fischer and Dr. Knight envisioned a medical practice in which patients could have a truly osteopathic experience – holistic, innovative, hands on medical care.
The history of Osteopathic Medicine begins with Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, MD, a nineteenth century pioneer physician who noted that the medical practices of the time often appeared to do more harm than good with his patients. This was innovative at the time and was the inspiration for the practice. What started as a dream has become a reality. The idea that you should be able to live your life and move freely without pain is at the forefront of our medical practice.
The Osteopathic Way is named following the idea that physicians and healthcare providers should provide a pathway for healing. We develop a customized treatment approach for each patient utilizing aspects of osteopathic medicine, functional medicine, regenerative treatments and acupuncture. The goal is to not only find the underlying cause of disease but to treat it and ultimately restore original function.
Dr. Fischer
After receiving Osteopathic treatment from a professor at school he realized the true power of Osteopathic Manipulation. As a student and intern Dr. Fischer did 7 months of rotations on Orthopedic Surgery services all over the country. His love for musculoskeletal medicine and the desire for work/life balance led him to train in Neuromuscular Medicine in Residency, where he first learned about Regenerative Medicine and Orthobiologics.
He is now happy to practice non-surgical orthopedics in the office while he lets his colleagues do the surgery when necessary.

Dr. Knight
When she went to medical school she immediately fell in love with Osteopathic Manipulation as a way to treat the body with the hands. Throughout her training she has constantly been amazed at the power of this modality to treat everyone from the elderly to newborns. Dr. Knight found osteopathic manipulation particularly helpful during her pregnancy and throughout the growth of her children. Osteopathic Manipulation has really allowed her children to thrive and she hopes to someday have every newborn receive treatment shortly after they are born.
She has a special interest in Breastfeeding Medicine and helping infants and toddlers who have latch issues with breastfeeding.
They were both passionate about musculoskeletal medicine and knew from the beginning that they wanted to start their own medical practice.
As their training continued, their understanding of the standard practices regarding pain, arthritis care and newborn care made it even more clear that patients could use an osteopathic approach. As outdoorsy people who like to do hike, bike, surf and play golf, they understand that patients who have an injury are being limited in their lives and often do not want or need surgery.
